AAOS to Develop Orthobiologics Registry for Knee Osteoarthritis

orthobiologics registries evidence based practice

01/06/2026

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is developing an orthobiologics registry to systematically capture real‑world procedural details and timed outcomes for patients with knee osteoarthritis.

The registry is meant to provide more unbiased, reliable, and evidence-based information on emerging regenerative treatments.

Early implementation will run at 10 pilot sites to test enrollment workflows, data capture, and initial outcome reporting. Planned signals include procedural uptake, feasibility metrics, and early safety and effectiveness trends.
